Droga Rodzino Domowego Kościoła,
Ostatniej nocy nasza diecezja Lake Charles podjęła smutną decyzję, ale niezbędną dla zdrowia i bezpieczeństwa diecezjan. Na razie postanowiliśmy zawiesić wszystkie Msze publiczne. Msza będzie jednak kontynuowana. Od każdego kapłana oczekuje się odprawiania Mszy bez zgromadzenia, każdego dnia w intencjach swego ludu. Dzisiaj przypomniałem sobie i przyniosłem do ołtarza każdego z członków moich trzech kręgów. Byli ze mną, chociaż byłem sam fizycznie.
Zastanawiając się nad tym, pomyślałem, jak i dlaczego powstał Domowy Kościół. Jestem pewien, że Wy również pamiętacie. Ojciec Franciszek Blachnicki założył Ruch Światło-Życie i Domowy Kościół w czasach kryzysu. Ludzie w Polsce mieli ograniczony dostęp do sakramentów, dlatego chciał pomóc w umacnianiu małżeństw chrześcijańskich mężczyzn i kobiet. Teraz, także wielu z nas, ma na razie ograniczony dostęp do sakramentów. Domowy Kościół został jednak podarowany każdemu z nas, abyśmy mogli się wzmocnić. Nie jesteśmy sami, Pan jest z nami, szczególnie, gdy nadal żyjecie swoim sakramentem!
Przyjrzyjmy się pokrótce naszym zobowiązaniom. Codziennie odmawiamy modlitwę i mówimy: „Jezu, bądź ze mną, abym był lepszym mężczyzną, lepszą kobietą”. Codziennie czytamy Pismo Święte i mówimy: „Jezu, mów do mnie, abym mógł poznać Twoje słowo!”. Codziennie odmawiamy modlitwę małżeńską, by powiedzieć: „Jezu, bądź z nami, abyśmy mogli być żywym sakramentem, żywym małżeństwem!”. Odbywamy codzienną rodzinną modlitwę i mówimy: „Jezu, bądź z nami, abyśmy mogli być Kościołem, Kościołem domowym tutaj!”. Prowadzimy nasz dialog małżeński, by powiedzieć: „Jezu, mów do mnie przez męża, przez żonę, dla naszego dobra i dobra naszej rodziny!”. Mamy regułę życia, więc prosimy: „Jezu, niech mądrość, którą nam dałeś, pomoże nam i naszej rodzinie!”. Odbywamy coroczne rekolekcje, więc prosimy: „Jezu, dałeś nam już raz odpocząć, wezwij nas w czasach kryzysu i daj nam odpocznienie, którego potrzebujemy ponownie!” Nie jesteśmy sami, Pan jest z nami zwłaszcza, że Wy i ja nadal żyjemy w naszych sakramentach!
Jezus zostaje z nami! Ojcze Blachnicki, wstawiaj się za nami!
Mam nadzieję, że będę mógł codziennie pisać do Was wszystkich, gdy doświadczamy tego czasu, aby kiedy przejdziemy na drugą stronę, będziemy bliżej Domowego Kościoła, do którego powołał nas Bóg.

Dear Domestic Church Family,
Last night, our Diocese of Lake Charles made a decision that was sad, but necessary for the health and safety of the people in the Diocese. We decided to suspend all public Masses for the time being. However, Mass will continue here. Each priest is expected to celebrate Mass Without a Congregation each day for the intentions of his people. For myself, today I found myself remembering and carrying to the Altar each of the members of my three circles. They were with me even though I was alone physically.
In reflecting on this, I thought about how and why Domestic Church was founded. I am sure you remember as well. Father Franciszeck Blachnicki founded Life/Light and Domestic Church in a time of crisis. People in Poland had limited access to the sacraments, and so he wanted to help strengthen the marriages of Christian men and women. Now, many of us have limited access to the sacraments for the time being. Domestic Church though has been gifted to each of us so that we can be strengthened. We are not alone, the Lord is with us, especially as you continue to live your sacrament!
Let us just briefly look at our commitments. We have daily prayer, and here we say, “Jesus, be with me, that I may be a better man, a better woman.” We have daily scripture readings, and here we say, “Jesus, speak to me that I may know Your Word!” We have daily couple prayer, and here we say, “Jesus, be with us that we can be a living sacrament, a living marriage!” We have daily family prayer, and here we say, “Jesus, be with us that we can be church, a domestic church here!” We have our couple dialogue, and here we say, “Jesus, speak to me through my husband, through my wife for our good and the good of our family!” We have the Rule of Life, and here we say, “Jesus, let the wisdom you have given us help us and our family!” We have our annual retreat, and here we say, “Jesus, you have given us rest once before, call to us in this time of crisis and give us the rest we need again!” We are not alone, the Lord is with us, especially as you and I continue to live our sacraments!
Jesus remain with us! Father Blachnicki pray for us!
I hope that I can write each day to you all as we experience this time so that when we come out on the other side, we will be closer to the Domestic Church God has called us to be.
